Botany is plant biology: the study of plants. This is my favorite field of science. Plants truly are gorgeous emergences of natural complexity.
Heather and I began gardening at Diyafa.
I have used the land surrounding our new home as a platform for learning about plants. Flourishing

This terrace is situated on the front side of the house, facing the street.

- Valencia orange tree (Midknight - seedless). Produces fruit April-October.
- Morning Glories. A very aggressive plant, but gorgeous, like flowers in tangled hair.
- Trailing rosemary.
- Heather.
- Lavender.
- Pineapple sage.
- Thyme.

There is a narrow terrace in the back patio, surrounding the pool and supporting the fence.

- Dwarf date palms (14).
- Silver Dragon Lilyturf (Liriope spicata) (3?).

We put in a raised herb garden in the back.

- French thyme (Thymus vulgaris)
- Chives

We have a number of plants in planters in the back patio.
- Star Jasmine (2).
- Trailing rosemary (~50 individuals).
- Jade.
- Ferns (unknown kind.)
