[edit] About Heather
For all of crispy's history until now, it has been the sole province of Jason, its creator. With the conversion of crispy to a wiki engine, I've also begun to contribute to the site.
[edit] Biographic Details
I was born on February 20, 1973, at the University Hospital of Ohio State University where both my parents were students. A few months after my birth, my father was commissioned in the United States Navy and we began moving every few months to every few years. By the time I was 18 years old, I'd moved 19 times. I've lived in just about every state on the East Coast, as well as Hawai'i and California. I've since lost count of how many times I've moved. I have lived in San Diego since 1995.
If you're into geek astrology, my Meyers-Brigg type is INTJ. The INTJ and ENTJ types are considered "contrary" or incompatible types. Jason is an ENTJ.
Jason and I were married on October 7, 2006. We bought a home together in December 2005.
[edit] Career
I have a B.A. in History from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA. For the first two years after I graduated in May 1995, I worked as a proofreader and copy editor for a scientific research publishing company in San Diego. In 1997 I began working in the software industry, first as a software tester, then as a QA Engineer, then a QA Director. I now work as the Lead Program Engineer for Configuration Management for a defense contractor in San Diego. I have virtually no formal education in software. For "fun" I perform Unix system administration and web development, maintaining the servers that host the crispy site, the online presence for Meleah Products, and our email servers.
[edit] Interests
I spend most of my evenings at dance class or troupe rehearsal. I've been studying and performing belly dance since 2001. I am the artistic director for Talisman Dance Company. Jason has chronicled some of my performances on this site. Jason and I have started to study tango together. I sew many of the costumes Jason and I wear to Burn events. I enjoy cooking and hope to go to a culinary school someday.
